God bless the internet.

Woo, finally a working internet connection! Now I can update regularly. So since my last post, it's been the same walking around and searching for new things. We went up to Camden on Saturday to check out the High Street and the Stables Market. Really amazing things. I've never seen so many Doc Martens in one place before, and we went to the store that originally began selling the shoes. The market was massive and went on for blocks, and the Stables Market interior was very easy to get lost in. There were lots of head shops, clothing stores, piercing shops, tons of food stalls (which all smelled delicious), for pretty cheap. When we left found a doughnut vendor selling huge doughnuts, 4/£1! Awesome, and delicious. We ended up walking back to ISH (our dorm) and sitting in the bar to relieve our feet.


Yesterday we took a walk to Leicester Square via Regents Street. Little did we know there was a massive street festival going on with live music and thousands of people. We made our way through the people and ended up just taking side streets to get to Leicester Square, which was much easier. There were still lots of people, but a much more tolerable amount. We sat in the square for a bit and found some food. We ate the biggest plate of gelatto, and it was wonderful. Then we traipsed back home in a food coma, and tried going to bed. When that didn't work, we got out of bed at 1am and tried finding something to eat. While apparently things aren't 24hrs here, we went to our local Portland Food & Wine and made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I wanted chocolate milk, but instead got some awful malted milk beverage called Yazoo? Terrible.


Today we got up late, had a meeting with the Dean of ISH (who has apparently been to my home town, weird), and got lunch. Afterwards we took care of some odds and ends, getting our healthcare forms in, taking a walk around Bakers Street down to Oxford Street. Finally went to check out Selfridges and Primark. Primark was total mayhem, it's like a JC Penneys, or a Kohls, but people go mad for it. Selfridges is like an upscale department store, with many designer labels (YSL, Alexander McQueen, etc.) amongst smaller brands like Topshop and French Connection. After the insanity that is Primark, we made our way home, and we set up our internent (THANK GOD). We're gonna head to the ISH bar and watch some football... you know, soccer.
